Privacy Policy

Home Stuff Inventory does not automatically collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data. The developer and app backend receive none because the app has no account or backend. You can intentionally export or back up data to a destination, provider, app, or recipient you select in Apple's system UI.

Local inventory data

The app stores your Inventory locally on your device so you can remember where household Items are kept. This can include Item names, Locations, Places, Categories, Quantity, Condition, Icon, Notes, Tags, Search-related app state, recent item view history, and Settings-based list values.

This information is not automatically sent to the developer or third parties. Only a user-initiated export or backup can pass a file to the destination or recipient you choose.

Export, backup, and restore

Readable export, complete manual backup, and compatible atomic restore are user-initiated local file workflows. The app creates or reads the selected file on your device. It does not upload file contents to the developer or a backend.

When you use Apple's system file picker or share sheet, you choose the destination, file provider, app, or recipient. That choice is controlled by you and may be handled under the selected provider's or recipient's terms.

Restore accepts only a validated compatible complete backup, not a readable export. The app shows a summary before replacement and changes the current Inventory only after you explicitly confirm. Before replacement it creates and verifies a complete safety backup in local app recovery storage. If replacement cannot be verified or is interrupted, the app uses that safety data to recover the previous Inventory when possible instead of silently creating an empty Inventory.

Accounts, analytics, ads, and tracking

The current release does not use accounts, analytics, advertising, tracking, backend services, third-party SDKs, or cloud sync.

Device permissions

The current release does not request access to location services, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or other protected device resources.

Data retention

Your inventory data and the latest pre-restore safety data remain local to the app unless you edit or delete data, delete the app, erase the device, or restore device data through iOS backup behavior. Export and backup files remain wherever you chose to save or send them; you control their retention there. Deleting the app can remove its local Inventory and recovery data unless iOS or device backup behavior preserves it.

Future changes

If a future version adds online features, third-party services, or new device permissions, this privacy policy and the App Store privacy disclosures will be updated before those features are released.
